(I follow) the 5-minute or 5-thing rule: If you’re in a room, spend either 5 minutes cleaning it (quick sweep, dust) or put away 5 things in their correct place. If you do this in every room, cleaning won’t amount to such a huge task because you do it as you go, every day.

Mix [baking soda] and water to create a thick paste, apply to the burner plates and gently rub the stains with a soft cloth or sponge. Keep from using steel wool; they can ruin ceramic stovetops.
