First, you can purchase small air purifiers for an individual room. However if you want to have your entire home's air cleansed, you'll need to purchase one for each room. There are however filters that you can purchase which are electrostatic filters for your furnace. These types of filters actually use static cling to pull the dust particles out of the air. They come in disposable and reusable.
Regularly vacuuming will help reduce the amount of dust in your home. Dust actually accumulates in the carpet and vacuuming often will remove the dust from the carpet. It may be helpful to turn on your furnace as you dust and vacuum so that some of the airborne particles get pulled into the furnace filter, further cleaning the air. Now the debate of whether to dust the furniture before vacuuming or after vacuuming, we'll discuss some other time.
Calling a professional carpet cleaning company also helps remove dirt and dust out of your carpet. This will help prevent the dust that was on the carpet from flying back into the air as people walk through your home.
