The Great Garbage Disposal Smell

- Posted: Dec 27, 2011

You use your garbage disposal everyday. You love not having to scrape the food into the garbage first before putting the plates in the sink. Everything about the disposal is wonderful and convenient, except... the smell.

Garbage disposals are great at harboring smells that could peel paint, but we've found a tip that can help reduce or eliminate those nasty odors.

If you love oranges, then you'll love this tip. After you peel your favorite fruit, put the peelings in the disposal instead. This will help reduce or even eliminate the noxious smell coming from the garbage disposal. It may be best to put small pieces of the orange peel into the disposal one at a time, rather than large pieces all at once. Also, remember to remove the sticker first.

This tip was inspired by this article.
